Bad Company
I have to do my Annual Returns for my company (Dragon’s Eye) and also file accounts. This is all well and good and under normal circumstances I’d have to pay an accountant to sort out the accounts. But I don’t feel kindly disposed to paying someone an extortionate amount of money to show that I have spent nothing and earned nothing (except for about 60p in interest) over the last year because I haven’t “traded”.
However, finding out how to produce a document that shows this is beyond even my internet searching skills (although I haven’t spent longer than about a minute on it). So if anyone can suggest how to approach this or knows of any informative sites that will help then I would be a very grateful person.

Somewhere back in the mists of time, I used to be an accounts typist, and although the memory of that time makes me twitch in a most unattractive manner, I’ve dredged the dark corners of the attic of my brain, and come up with the following info for you:
http://www.vsib.co.uk/accounts.htm (a set of accounts that you can probably copy and replace with the appropriate information)
http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk (which you probably already know about, and contains shedloads of info on how to fill out the forms and what will happen if you don’t…)
http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/about/gbhtml/gba10.shtml (specific information about “dormant” companies - i.e., ones that haven’t traded…)
Alternatively, find someone you know who is an accountant or knows one, and get them to help you…

Pix, you’re a star and when we finally do go for that drink, yours will be a large one!

If memory serves, so long as you’re turnover is less than about £70,000, you can submit either as a dormant company, or a very abridged set of accounts, that don’t need to be verified by an accountant at all.
Other than that, yeah, what pix said. *grin*
