For a self confessed film afficianado, I’ve been stunningly slack in going to the cinema this year. I have been a grand total of once to see “Shaun of the Dead”. On the other hand, I’ve watched a hell of a lot of films on dvd and have been working on reducing the number of films I haven’t seen on the list of 100 top films that came around in January. Back then, the number of films I hadn’t seen was 32. It’s now 22. Have to up the speed to get the rest seen by the end of the year though.
Every weekend I keep threatening to go and spend the day at the movies and catch up with the films I haven’t seen but I never do it. I just can’t be bothered by 7pm on a sunday to get in the car and drive to Hemel Hempstead or Watford. I have decided that I’m going to risk seeing “Troy” tomorrow night in Town as I do really need to see it (even though reviews generally haven’t been fantastic). Despite loving Kill Bill when it was released, I haven’t felt motivated enough to go and see the sequel yet either.
I have been a little naughty and “borrowed” some preview discs from a friend who’s partner works for BAFTA so I got to see “Big Fish”, “Starsky & Hutch” and a few others but still no cinema trips.
I have been, quite frankly, crap.
I must make amends. I must also make my bloody film which I just keep procrastinating about (even if my procrastinating is me finding more races to run and jobs to do around the house).
Anyway, my procrastination this week will involve guest blogging over at Uborka. So if I’m not here, I’m there.
Story of my life, really.

I can’t even remember the last time we went to the cinema. I have a horrible feeling it was for K-Pax (big disappointment). And yes, you should be making your film.
