Newsworthy
Hands up who knows what the score was between Croatia and England the other day?
Hands up who knows which housemates are up for eviction this week?
Hands up who knew that Iran had “paraded” some blindfolded British troops on the television yesterday?
Hands up all those who knew that a militant Muslim group in Iraq were holding Kim Sun-il, a South Korean translator working in Iraq, as hostage?
Hands up all those who knew that he had been beheaded on video in exactly the same manner as Nick Berg was just over a month ago and that the video is freely available on the internet?
Hands up all those who know what page of today’s Guardian the story of Mr Kim’s death made?
Hands up all those who know who Paul Johnson was?
It doesn’t go away, you know.

Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Down, Up-ish.
You’re right, it doesn’t go away - unfortunately, bloggerheads has, but the finale is a stunner.

I’ve got to admit to “up” (though I didn’t see the match), “up” (yup, I’ve seen BB), and loads of downs.
I’m ashamed.

Yeah, this is a post partly inspired by Bloggerheads and yes, the finale is fantastic. Good on manic!
Incidentally, the Guardian featured that story on page 14. (Or at least, I think it was the Guardian - it may have been the Mail. I was reading someone elses copy over their shoulder. It only made something like page 10 of the Metro as well.

hollywood will make a film of all this one day, probably starring that nice, likeable mr robbins, and all of this will go away.

Down (but not surprised. He ain’t “white”)
Down (won’t buy newspapers)

I’ve been struggling a bit with this lately. Aim of blog? Frivolous nonsense to take my mind of the war when it started. I can’t write well enough to express the sheer disgust I’m feeling at Bush and his cohorts, some of the American public, Blair, et al. So I carry on. All I can do is point people in the direction of those who can write about it. But still.
p.s. I don’t think Tim Robbins of all people will be starring in any pro war/pro Bush movie.

sorry daisy. i’m as cynical of hollywood liberals as i am conservatives.

Agreed but I *think* Robbins & Saradon are the exception.
