Busy!
Would be nice to say that I’m going on holiday but I’m not. I have loads to do and will be away for a couple of days doing best man’s duty at a wedding. So it’s going to be quiet around here for a couple of days.
I will try to add more to my training diary about what Tough Guy. In the meantime, I recommend the following:
The Ninth Gate, directed by Roman Polanksi, starring Johnny Depp, Channel 5, Wednesday, 9pm. No idea if it’s any good or not but a few people have said it’s worth watching and is an underrated classic. It’s also got the gorgeous Emmanuelle Seinger in it too. Who can forget the classic scene of her pulling on that rubber dress in “Bitter Moon”?
The heavy cover of “Blue Monday” by Orgy. New Order with industrial guitars - fantastic. I also rate Fear Factories heavy cover of Gary Numan’s “Cars” too.
Just seen it, well most of it, had to leave the room after the mad baroness had been strangled (fire) and missed must of the last bit (fire) but I can see why people rave about Depp, there’s not many actors who could’ve carried that role. And the scene where Balkan says “Boo” to the assembled devil worshippers? Hah!
Final verdict - an enjoyable piece of hokum.
