Hi Dan, and welcome. For me the tough guy attitude is about not giving up. I know that I finished and that I skipped at least two of the obstacles. I also know that it's not a case of training harder as much as it's a case of training at all! Those were my extra obstacles - recovering from illness and not training. I will be back next year because I have the added incentive of doing the proper obstacles and not the ones I bring myself. I'll see you then - unless you're doing Nettle Warrior too.

I also completed the tough guy on sunday, it was indeed very difficult due to the cold but I completed every part of the course so got the meddle with honour. I found your site when searching for news on the event. Is it not said on the tough guy web site that if any part of the course is missed you should admit defeat and give up, train harder and return next year. Although admirable that you took part in the event sometimes winning under false reasoning is only cheating yourself. Good luck for next year and complete every part this time. See ya at the Finish.

As we so often say when you make posts like this: You're crazy. And I don't mean the normal common or garden crazy, I mean absolutely certifiable ;-)

In any case, congratulations on finishing, good job supporting the friend despite it all, and good luck with the next one (and the preparation for the next time at this one).
