Never played it. And all it means is that I can now travel 60% faster which means soon I’m going to do a grand tour of Azeroth and make sure I go see the Dark Portal before it opens later this year.
Well, Zelda is pretty much like Wow only without the other actual people. And Epona is pretty much the same as your mighty steed, meaning you can go faster and jump across huge chasms into previously-inaccessible areas. Zelda has held the ‘best game ever’ accolade for me since 1997.
For a tast of what Zelda is about, check out this trailer for the latest installment, due out sometime between June and Christmas (typical of Nintendo to give the vaguest release date possible). Looks like there’s a bit of a Ladyhawke influence in there. And if you know what that means, you can be my friend.
Well, as impressive as it looks, my two main issues with Zelda are 1) I fucking loathe that cutesy Anime look and 2) I don’t own any form of Nintendo console. That being said, it is a shame I missed out on it.
And I see exactly what you mean about the Ladyhawke influence - do you think Princess Zelda is the hawk? I don’t remember Rutger Hauer battling mobs that seem to come straight out of the Tron universe, though.
Well the thing about Zelda is, being very much Japanese in origin, is it tends to be quite Japanesey. But the real ‘thing’ is the stories. Even on the Gameboy the stories were always amazingly detailed and inventive,. The crowning glory was the Ocarina Of Time, which is considered to be the ‘official’ Best Game Ever™, and featured at 70-to-80 hour story which was very possibly the only computer game story to nearly make me cry.
I've got a thing about films. Not in a weird way; I just watch a lot of them, try to write them and sometimes make them. I talk about them here. Sometimes I talk about other things too but mostly it's films. Or running.
He/she’s not as nice as Epona from the Legend of Zelda though, imho.
