		<description>Galloway Forest Park?  What month is it?  Because unless you like getting your protein via the vector of inhalation, the midges are a tortuous nightmare through summer and autumn.  If it's not winter, you might wish to make the sacrifice of carrying netting for hats.

I once headed out into Glen Trool, all set for a pleasant day in the hills: two peaks and twenty-something km planned.  I turned back within half an hour because, without mosquito nets protecting bare skin, conditions were nightmarish and unbearable, even for someone from the west coast.</description>
