Music Quiz
Daisy asked what the music was in the video of my hatchling. She’s actually about the third or fourth person to ask me that out of about five who’ve seen it (and the first to comment about it on here so thank you Daisy, it’s nice to know that someone’s paying attention). I’m surprised as I was under the impression that most people would get the reference (provided they’d had any sort of UK based upbringing). Granted it’s not new and if you’re under 20 (maybe 25) you probably won’t know. So the first question of the day is:
What’s the music I used in the video?
I’m going to continue the theme because I wanted to post a link to the best trailer I’ve seen in quite a while, sans doute. *This is the teaser for a film based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel “300″. After the successful cinematic adaptation of Sin City graced the silver screen, it looks like Miller is flavour of the month and people no longer hold the questionable script for Robocop 2 against him. It also looks like it could be a far better film about ancient Greece than Troy could ever dream of being.
So, the question - what’s the music used in the trailer? (And yes, I do know, I just thought it would be fun to guess).
Answers in the usual place.**
UPDATE: So yes, the answers are in. I used the theme from classic TV series “Bod” in my little vid and the music from the 300 trailer is NIN’s “Just Like You Imagined” from “The Fragile”. Nice one.
*If, like me, you sometimes have trouble watching anything on the Quicktime site, try downloading the first trailer on this page instead - but be warned that I haven’t checked for sure it’s the correct trailer so watch all three anyway.
**Um, that’ll be the comments box!

The first is the theme tune to Bod, with the inimitable tones of the godlike John le Mesurier on vocals.
I hadn’t seen that trailer before, but it looks awesome. I’ll let someone else answer the question as to the second track, so as to avoid being class swot, but it is certainly just like I imagined it would sound.

It sounds like NIN, but I’m not 100% certain of which track…

Blimey, that trailer is very disturbing (but I guess effective).
I’m well over the 20/25 age group and grew up in the UK but… hang on, maybe it was popular while I was overseas? Yes, that’s it! It’s not thast I’m crap at identifying music at all…

And yes, the trailer looks ace, here’s hoping the film matches it!

Then we will fight in the shade…….
I’d not been aware that a movie based on the Spartans’ stand at Thermopylae (in fact, based on artist Frank Miller’s retelling) was due out in March… having seen the trailers now, I can’t wait….
