Gordon’s asked a load of questions on his blog and, being ever a trivia and pub quiz lover, I sent him my answers before looking them up on Google/Wikipedia. They’re after the jump in case you want to have a go yourself.

1. Sigmund Freud
3. That big jumbo plane that ran out of fuel (that Gordon linked to in your miniblog) and I’ve been telling people about ever since.*
4. 3.
5. Kennedy, La Guardia and Newark (thanks Die Hard 2!)
7. Tin
8. Santana (thanks for introducing me to Abraxas, Dad!)
10. 1983
11. Frank (this was never revealed in the series and wasn’t until the box set of DVDs was released when Universal mentioned the name on their website and also showed the signature on his badge)
13. West Ham (I wish I didn’t know this)
14. The Wasp Factory - Iain Banks
17. Yangtze
18. Descent (this is a common pub quiz question)
19. Woody Allen
20. Artemis (Greek) and Diana (Roman) although Selene was another Greek moon goddess.

Now Gordon reckons I’ve got 14 right but I work it out as 16 (possibly 17). Trivial Pursuit (Q. 10) was released in 1981 so that’s wrong for sure and it might be possible that he’s after Luna for the Roman moon goddess although that was another name for Diana rather than a different goddess altogether (benefits of a classical education). There’s bound to be debate about Columbo’s first name because a) it wasn’t revealed in the series and b) the Trivial Pursuit answer to the question gives it as Philip.

It’ll be interesting to see what Gordon gives as his answers tomorrow.
