Duh! Of course. I started thinking down the wrong lines thinking it was some death metal band like Spawn of Madness or Slayers of Mayhem or something. Not that either of those bands exist but you know, they might.

SOM: Sisters Of Mercy. One of those acronyms that get used in places like record fairs; like FOTN (Fields Of The Nephilim) and the one that flummoxed me for a long time... SATB. All I could think was Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass (as is seen on so many music scores) but I should really have put two and two together and thought Siouxsie And The Banshees.

I'm not particularly up on Thirwell... I tended to get very specialist in specific artists and sometimes miss the biger picture. I do know there are a couple of great Thirwell mixes of The Cult's She Sells Sanctuary out there.

I bought The Crow soundtrack (a quid on eBay again) specifically for TKK's After The Flesh- possibly the last good track they put on record.

That version of Religion features Jim Thirlwell who is one of my favourite artists. He is an insane god amongst ignorant men.

I probably should have put the band names alongside the tracks but no, neither of them are by SOM. First one is by The Cure (from The Crow soundtrack) and second is by Nine Inch Nails (from Natural Born Killers soundtrack). Burn (Flashpoint) is by Fear Factory

Hot-damn! I love that version of Religion. About the only thing I've got by the band. Thought I was the only one who knew it. Either of those 'Burn's by SOM?

I actually called it "Bloodlust, Sensationalism and Violence" after a line in the song "Terror" (by KMFDM). But it was the outline for the Funjunkie Summer Burn I did a few years ago.
