I break blog silence to tell you that Dr Horrible’s Sing-along blog is now live. Maybe you haven’t been keeping up with current events but we just got our arses kicked pal! Wait, no, that’s not right. Um… if you haven’t been keeping up with current events then you won’t know that Dr Horrible’s Sing-along blog is a brief episodic online show masterminded by the superfluous, no, superlative Joss Whedon, staring Doogie Howser, Mal Reynolds and Codex from The Guild. Part one is now up and parts two and three are on their way.

Yay.

But also not yay.

Because if you are in the world outside the USA then you won’t be able to see it unless you can fool the HULU mainframe with one of those new-fangled proxy IP server doohickey with a Visual Basic GUI to make it appear that you’re living down the road in Nowheresville, Alabama and are a red-blooded, god-fearing, Bush-voting American citizen then you won’t be able to watch it.

Which just goes to show how much Joss “Bow down before me and pray I don’t lose my temper because you are not worthy to lick the toe-jam from my trainers, you insignificant speck!” Whedon cares about the rest of the world, the doesn’t-care-about-the-rest-of-the-world bastard.

Except that he does and posted this comment on fan site Whedonesque to proclaim his magniglorious love for all insignificant specks across the globe globally everywhere around the world:

Dear… I want to say friends…

I Can’t tell you what a thrill it was for me and Jed and Zack and Maurissa to gather round the comp-fire and await the launch of our musical… and find out it wasn’t playing in many many places. And get slammed. And slammed. Yay team! Team of slamming!

The fact is, we’re dealing with big companies that have moved more quickly on this venture than they’ve ever had to. We’ve always been clear about getting this out to everyone, but that just isn’t as simple as we’d like. (At the last minute we found out about a Canadian restriction involving it having to be in French simultaneously…) We (well, mostly Jed) have worked to the point of delirium getting this out to you guys, and yeah, we’re experiencing technical difficulties. Bear with us. We’re (well, mostly Jed) trying to make this work for everyone as soon as we can. It’s not thoughtlessness, or jingoism, corporate evil or scurvy. It’s just new. We’ll get you there.

For those of you who HAVE seen it, isn’t it dreamy? Thank you for all your comments. They buoyed us much. Sadly, we really just phoned in the next two eps, so it’s all downhill. Jestage!
